My name's Marie, which isn't the name I was born with, but the name I chose for myself when I naturalized as an American citizen two decades ago. I am Filipino by birth and live in California's Central Valley. I handsew wearable art from discarded and dismissed garments. My shop mission is "To banish cubicle mindset, flout conformity, feed the spirit with enchanting finds and move through life with panache." It's also my personal mission as I reinvent at midlife.
Bringing beauty to the surface is what inspires me. I am moved to capture and share moments of beauty via macro photography, my observational blog and the transformed and transformational clothing that encourages women to be sensual, scandalous, demure, or whatever facet of themselves they want to bring to the surface. Life's too short to settle for mediocre.
