Hi! My name is Mindy and live in Maryland. I never thought of myself as creative or the artistic type, until my mother in law, Sandy and I began taking classes at Beaumont Pottery, in Phoenix, MD (a local pottery shop). I was very intimidated at first, but as I watched all the different skill levels of the others in my class, I became inspired and immediately fell in love with throwing pieces. It was a relaxing retreat for me as I'm a wife and mother of 4 (3 at the time). Jerry, Janet (the owners of the shop and the school) and my teachers were very encouraging even when I was making the goofiest, uneven looking pieces.
I looked forward to the time with the other students and uplifting words of the owners. Jerry would frequently visit our class to throw a piece and we would stand there in awe. I had to take some time off to have my 4th child and the school closed in the mean time, but their beautiful, peaceful shop is still open. I began finding relaxation and an occasional escape from the business of motherhood in making handmade and handcrafted jewelry and other gifts.
It's my passion to encourage others through prayer, teaching kids about God, meeting with others to show them God's love and power in their struggles, and making gifts to make people smile. I love being a part of new creations being formed like pottery, jewelry making, creating handmade gifts, and most importantly having the honor of being used by God in watching him transform lives! He uses the broken pieces and puts it all together so beautifully and creates something new. He makes things come together so amazingly.
I've always been passionate about encouraging others in their walk with God and now I get to do that by making encouraging gifts as well. I'm excited to see what new things I'll be trying in the future.
